Social responsibility is a trend that is “redefining senior living” today, according to architect Cornelia C. Hodgson. Led by Boomers, this trend includes activism in areas such as stewardship of resources and sustainable design, says Hodgson, who has specialized in senior living for nearly 30 years. Older generations share the Boomers’ passion to protect the environment. They are increasingly taking ownership of this issue, becoming a driving force for “going green” and being good stewards of the environment in senior living communities and other settings.
