Can children care for their retired parents?
The median retirement age for workers in the United Kingdom is 61 years old, according to a recent discussion paper (Institute for the Study of Labor), and the average life expectancy is 81.7 years for women and 77.5 years for men (Department of Health). This range of approximately 20 years is being viewed not only by the older adults themselves, but also by their children.
