Leaders in business, government, society and academia tackle vital global issues
[Vancouver, BC. June 2013] Colin Milner, founder and CEO of the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA), will take part for the sixth consecutive year in the World Economic Forum?s Network of Global Agenda Councils. A visionary in active aging and aging-related issues, Milner established ICAA to support professionals who provide wellness and fitness facilities, programs and services for adults over 50. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge with the Network?s Global Agenda Council on Ageing 2013 in November of this year.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum is an independent, nonprofit organization "committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas." The Network of Global Agenda Councils is designed to further the Forum?s mission and strategic vision, and tackle global issues of vital importance.
Each of the 80 Global Agenda Councils brings together 15-20 international experts "to capture the very best knowledge on each key issue and to stimulate knowledge-generating activities in a holistic approach comprising multistakeholder engagement." These councils act as advisory boards to the Forum, as well as to parties such as governments and international organizations.
Milner is delighted to collaborate with the Network of Global Agenda Councils again this year. "I am eager to continue my work with this group," he says,"and look forward to discussing with my colleagues the value of active aging and its promise as a solution to some of the key challenges facing society."
