Expectations of aging clash with reality

Stereotypes and inaccurate beliefs about the lives of older adults can be found among people at younger ages (ICAA Research Review, 7(10) 2007 and 8(18) 2008). Since the “older population” is composed of millions of individuals, the reality is likely different than the stereotype.
