Many motivations lead middle-aged women to physical activity
In mid-life, generally 45-64 years old, women are in a period of transition. Family responsibilities, sometimes for both children and older relatives, careers and jobs, and physical changes can make it challenging for women to engage in physical activity. The authors of a recent study also point out that women in Western culture are constantly being reminded of an ideal of youth and thinness.
