People who have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and/or are overweight also have higher healthcare costs. Healthcare costs were approximately $2,000 higher for people with these conditions, according to a study in last week’s issue of ICAA Research Review (9[34] 2009). An unrelated study looked at healthcare costs for older adults if these conditions were treated successfully.
