Immediate action eases family and cost burden of Alzheimer's

When dementia, the loss of memory and other mental abilities severe enough to interfere with daily life, progresses to Alzheimer’s disease, the condition impacts the family along with the individual. For society at large, Alzheimer’s is costly. For example, the estimated cost of Alzheimer’s is $172 billion annually in the US (Alzheimer’s Association) and $15 billion in Canada (Alzheimer Society).
