Eating plan lowers risk of heart attack
Research has shown repeatedly that eating a diet high in vegetables and fruit and low in fat and red meat contributes to overall health. An example is the DASH eating plan, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products as well as whole grains, poultry, fish and nuts. The plan also calls for reducing fats, red meat, sweets and sugar-containing beverages.
