Exercise is key part of new guidelines to prevent falls
For an older adult, a fall can be a life-changing event. Falls are not only associated with significant injury and death in the older population, they are also linked to reduced independence and early admission to long-term care facilities. Recognizing the need, the American Geriatrics Society and the British Geriatrics Society have updated their fall prevention guidelines, which were last published in 2001.
