Long-term care is a major employer

In a series of fact sheets released over one week, the American Health Care Association reported that about 4.4 million Americans will need long-term care services (assisted living, nursing and rehabilitation) at some point in their lives. The association estimates that today, one million people live in approximately 38,000 assisted living communities (The State of Long Term and Post-Acute Care).
