The potential of technology to aid older adults

A special issue of Ageing International (March 2011)includes nine articles on technology and older adults. In the introduction, the guest editors state that the growing population of people ages 65 years and older is accompanied by an expected increase in chronic health conditions. At the same time, the long-term care workforce faces shortages, and the pressure for aging adults to stay in their homes and rely on unpaid caregivers is affecting many countries.
