Health remains top challenge for older adults

It’s no surprise that the concerns and interests of the aging population are getting a lot of attention. The US Census Bureau estimates that in 2009, there were 72 million people 55 years and older in the US—a large population that will increase each year. The global population of older people is growing at an accelerated rate of 2.6% per year compared to the other ages, a group growing at a rate of 1.2% per year (United Nations, 2009).
