General health may increase-or reduce-risk of dementia
Dementia refers to a variety of symptoms of mental decline, including loss of memory, language and thinking skills and emotional functioning. Alzheimer’s disease is a well-known form of dementia (Alzheimer’s Research UK). The search is on to find ways to predict the onset of dementia and prevent or treat the condition. Looking at the problem from a new direction, a research team investigated nontraditional indicators of dementia.
