Key message and goal-setting reduce sedentary time
The reports of the risk of sedentary living, such as spending hours in a chair watching television, are accumulating. A recent spate of research findings have made the case that sedentary hours may be an independent risk factor for weight gain and mortality (ICAA Research Review, 11[26] July 2011), among other health risks. Will older adults give up their television and computer time to reduce sitting time?
