Hypertension and diabetes a global issue
The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new report that highlights the prevalence of noncommunicable diseases, among other indicators of health. As reported in ICAA Research Review (11[34] September 2011) late last year, the World Health Organization published an action plan to control noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease and stroke, which have overtaken infectious disease, such as diarrhea, HIV and malaria, as the leading causes of death globally.
