Life Fitness: a history of innovation
It was the late 1970s, and the Lifecycle stationary exercise bike would soon revolutionize fitness. But success was still a dream at this point in the Life Fitness story. After forming in 1977, Lifecycle, Inc., had struggled to sell its namesake product—now widely regarded as the first stationary bike to have interactive electronics. For many months, industry pioneer Ray Wilson and his business partner, Augie Nieto, had virtually no sales. Then Nieto hit on a bold idea.
