Even mild cognitive impairment leads to higher health care costs

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the term used to categorize a person who has some memory and thinking challenges, but is still able to function in daily activities. The use of medical and nonmedical care was tracked for three years among 259 people diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and 107 individuals who were cognitively healthy.
