Australia debuts symbol for "dementia-friendly" organizations
At the national conference of Alzheimer’s Australia, three new reports were released, including “Dementia-Friendly Societies: The Way Forward” and “Cognitive Impairment Symbol: Creating Dementia Friendly Organisations.” These papers (the third covers policies for respite care) were written to encourage policies and attitudes that counteract the feelings of shame associated with a diagnosis of dementia and construct a more welcoming physical environment.
