Older women's health best in high-income countries
In May of this year (2013), the World Health Organization’s 194 Member States agreed on a global action plan for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers and chronic respiratory diseases (WHO Global NCD Action Plan 2013-2020). Noncommunicable diseases cause the most deaths worldwide; women are the largest percentage of older persons.
