Keiser: committed to mature fitness
In the late 1970s, the fitness industry was booming. Aerobics classes were high impact and pumping iron meant Incredible Hulk-sized muscle mass. Dennis and Randy Keiser wanted to change all that. While fitness fanatics dreamed of pumping up with iron weight stacks, the Keisers had a different vision.
In 1977, the engineering brothers formed Keiser Corporation. They sought out an entirely new form of resistance that they thought would make strength training safer and more effective: pressurized air. A year later, Keiser introduced pneumatic technology. Its revolutionary features included a starting resistance of zero, the ability to change resistance in one-pound increments and no impact to joints and connective tissues.
