Mobility in hospital neutralizes bed rest "toxicity"

Developing a mobility plan for hospitalized patients and ensuring that they follow it could help reduce discharges to skilled nursing facilities, enhance patient engagement and influence post-discharge outcomes in individuals over age 65, according to a report, "Bedrest is Toxic - Why Mobility Matters in the Hospital," published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
