Stats: Virtual doctor visit only option for 30% during pandemic
By June 2020, 30% older adults had ever participated in a telehealth visit, according to the recent National Poll on Healthy Aging. Most of those visits were likely due to the pandemic, given that 25% of older people in the US had a virtual medical visit from March to June - much higher than the 4% of people over 50 who said they had ever had a virtual visit with a doctor in a similar poll taken in 2019. Further, 30% said that a virtual visit was the only option when they called to schedule an appointment.
