Diabetes threatens lives and economies
At the recent World Diabetes Congress, updated figures showed that the prevalence of diabetes is rising at a rapid rate. In a call to action, the diabetes federation’s president said that unhealthy lifestyles are fueling the diabetes epidemic. He called on governments to make sure that healthy life choices are available and affordable, and urged them to do their utmost to help prevent diabetes and other so-called lifestyle diseases.
